Survivors First Strike: Honoring Strength Before Every Home Game
At Melon Mashers Baseball, we believe the game is about more than just wins and losses — it’s about community, resilience, and honoring those who inspire us all. That’s why we are proud to introduce Survivors First Strike, a special pregame ceremony dedicated to celebrating breast cancer survivors.
Before each home game at Providence Grove High School, a breast cancer survivor will take the field to throw out the ceremonial first pitch — the Survivors First Strike. This moment is more than just the start of a game; it’s a powerful tribute to courage, perseverance, and the incredible journeys of those who have battled and overcome.
We are currently inviting breast cancer survivors from across the community to be part of this meaningful experience. Whether you’re recently in remission or years into survivorship, we want to recognize your fight and give you the spotlight you deserve.
Each participant will:
- Be honored on the field prior to the game
- Receive recognition from players, coaches, and fans
- Take part in a memorable and uplifting community moment
The Survivors First Strike is part of our ongoing commitment to supporting awareness and bringing people together through the game of baseball. These ceremonies will serve as a reminder that strength comes in many forms — and that every survivor has a story worth celebrating.
